The Lely Astronaut A5 is designed with a focus on longevity, reliability and cost of ownership. The more you can rely on the Astronaut, the better you can make use of the saved hours and flexibility. To be outstanding in terms of reliability and uptime, Lely replaced the top 10 parts that required the most corrective maintenance on the A4.
With the A5 you can achieve optimal freedom of movement for your cows. With free cow traffic, the cows decide themselves when to eat, drink, relax or be milked. The new hybrid arm combines the advantages of electrical driven movements with the softness and power of air. A pneumatic cylinder carries the weight of the arm, using virtually no air, while electrical components move the arm with great accuracy.
